Fertility Access Campaign for Single People
Every individual should have the right to build a family, regardless of their relationship status. Yet, single people face systemic barriers to accessing fertility treatment in the UK. The current policies and funding structures are outdated and discriminatory, failing to reflect modern family-building realities. Our community calls for urgent reforms to ensure single individuals are included in Access to Fertility Treatment and the Women’s Health Strategy.

What we are asking:
The Solo and Supported Fertility Access Campaign is fighting for equity and equality in fertility funding in England and nationally across the UK. With the Women’s Health Strategy not explicitly mentioning single women when it comes to access for fertility funding, it seems our community was missed out of the discussions.
We want to be included in the conversations and policies about access to fertility funding including:
- Explicit inclusion in the Women’s Health Strategy
- Equal and equitable access to NHS Fertility funding for single people (including embryo creation and fertility preservation)
- Data collection on solo parent family’s and outcomes
- Access to purchase sperm for Informal arrangements in the home (Home Insemination)
